The concert was organised by the Ludwig van Beethoven Association in collaboration with the Polish Olympic Committee, the Fryderyk Chopin Institute and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
The idea of the concert refers to the ancient Olympic Games, when not just athletes but also musicians took part.
“Art competitions have accompanied sport since ancient times,” Komorowska said last night.
Top of the bill were pianists Paweł Wakarecy and Marcin Koziak, who were the highest rated Polish musicians who took part in the 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. (pg)
