Tusk meets Van Rompuy for lunch

Former PM Donald Tusk is having lunch in Brussels with outgoing president of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy on Thursday before taking up the role on 1 December.

Outgoing president of the European Commission Jose Manuel Borroso will also be attending the lunch in the Belgian capital, as will his successor Jean-Claude Juncker.
Donald Tusk stood down as prime minister of Poland in September after being selected for the role as European Council chief, where he will chair summits of the 28 national leaders of the EU.
The European Voice reports that the Dane Preben Aamann will become Tusk's spokesman in Brussels.
Preben Aamann has been Herman Van Rompuy's deputy spokesperson for the last five years. (pg)
