“We already have the funds, so this will definitely happen. We only need to put things on paper,” said Schetyna, Wednesday.

The Foreign Minister added that 5,000 Polish troops will be able to be deployed by the beginning of 2015.

Meanwhile, Polish Defence Minister Tomasz Siemoniak said that more details on the exact composition of the temporary forces will be known in February.

“I confirm that the temporary spearhead could contain some elements of our [Polish] armored units,” Siemoniak said during a trip in Saudi Arabia.

The rapid reaction troops will be led by the German, Dutch and Norwegian armies. (rg/jb)
