The Ukrainian president comes on the invitation of his Polish counterpart, Bronislaw Komorowski, Polish Radio reported. The president of Poland will sign the ratification of Ukraine’s association agreement with the European Union in his presence.

“We would like [President] Poroshenko’s visit to be the confirmation of the strategic partnership between Poland and Ukraine and the Polish readiness to support its pro-Western orientation,” President Komorowski’s office said in a press release.

Poroshenko will also make a speech to Parliament, meet Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz and attend the Polish-Ukrainian economic forum.

On Thursday the Ukrainian president will visit Lublin in the east of Poland and inspect an international military unit stationed there, the Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian brigade LITPOLUKRBRIG. The unit was set up in September this year. (an)
