The EU’s determination to fight extremism has been strengthened by the recent terrorist attacks, the European Council President Donald Tusk said in a tweet following the killing of two in Copenhagen.

“Our determination to fight extremism, terrorism only strengthened by such attacks,” the former Polish prime minister said. “We will face this threat together.”

The Polish authorities made no comment in the wake of the most recent attack by an apparent Islamist extremist. Emulating the recent Paris attack, the terrorist first targeted a media outlet accused of insulting Prophet Muhammad, then local Jews.

The terrorist was killed alongside a journalist and a Jewish man, while several police officers were injured. (an)
