Briton blinded in gun incident with Kraków strip club bouncer

Car mechanic Christian Lidster was celebrating his friend's 30th birthday when his group was apparently lured into the Hypnose Gentlemen's Club.

After being charged GBP 100 for four vodkas, the men complained that the bill was unfair.

“The two bouncers came over straight away after I complained that the drinks were a rip-off,” Lidster told UK paper The Daily Mirror.

“They were two big guys in their 30s and dressed in black and just spoke Polish as they shouted at us.”

Although the tourists did pay up, this apparently did not stop club staff from continuing the attack.

“I got shot as we ran upstairs to the main entrance door. One of the bouncers pulled out a gun and shot me twice,” Lidster says.

“The doctors removed the bullets from my eye and chest. They were lightweight handgun bullets but there's no doubt they could have killed me.”

Lidster must now be fitted with a glass eye, as doctors were unable to restore his sight.

The bouncer in question is due to stand trial in Kraków for attempted murder.

Over the last twelve months, there has been a rash of incidents in which foreigners have complained of being charged extortionate prices for drinks in Kraków strip clubs. (nh)
