When comparing the data for April to June 2014 and April to June 2015, the UK office found that the number of EU migrants has risen by 250,000.

Meanwhile, as regards non-British citizens from both the EU and beyond, between June 1997 and June 2015 the overall number of migrant workers rose from 966,000 to 3.18 million.

During the UK census carried out in 2011, it was found that 579,121 Poles were resident in Britain, following an exodus in the wake of Poland's accession to the EU in 2004.

The full table of data concerning migrant workers from the EU can be found at the Office for National Statistics' official website. (nh/rk)
