Polish President's office announces foreign itinerary

The foreign trips during Polish President Andrzej Duda's first 100 days in office have been announced, with the Estonian capital Tallinn being the first destination.

The first foreign visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda since he took office on 6 August will be to the Estonian capital on 23 August, announced Krzysztof Szczerski from the presidential office.
The date is not accidental, Szczerski said, adding that the visit was planned to coincide with the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism on the anniversary of the signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.
In the Estonian capital, Andrzej Duda will hold talks about Polish-Estonian bilateral relations, as well as give a speech on the "importance and significance of international law for peace in the world and the importance of subjectivity in Central Europe to the security and stability of Europe".
Soon after, President Duda will travel to Berlin.
“On 28 August, the president and his wife will go to Berlin. In [the German capital, President Duda] will hold bilateral talks with President Joachim Gauck, Chancellor Angela Merkel and Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier,” Szczerski said.
On 15 September the president intends to visit London, on September 26-29, Andrzej Duda will be in New York for the UN General Assembly, and the last of his trips during his first 100 days will be to China. (rg/rk)
