A poll by CBOS into how Poles view other nations showed that Italians, Spaniards, Czechs, Slovaks, Swedes, Hungarians, British, Swiss and Dutch were the favourites.

Americans and French, Irish, Belgians, Austrians, Japanese, Greeks, Croatians, Germans, Lithuanians, Georgians, Estonians and Bulgarians were a close second batch.

Compared with a poll conducted by CBOS in 2014, 12 of 32 nations improved and only one – Russia - deteriorated (a decrease on average of 0.25). The greatest plus changes were in attitudes towards Germans (0.25), Americans (0.23), Japanese (0.23), British (0.22), Swedes (0.19) and Italians (+ 0.19).

According to CBOS, positive changes in attitudes over the last 22 years are seen in relation to Ukrainians, Germans and Serbs. (jh/rk)
