A senior presidential aide, Krzysztof Szczerski, told Polish Radio that the visit to France has been in planning for a long time.

“There has been a decision. The President will visit Paris on 28 October, this way completing a cycle of visiting major European capitals,” Szczerski said.

There will be two major topics.

“On the one hand [Duda and Hollande will discuss the] question of tax and preparation for the climate summit, on our part to prepare for next year's NATO summit in Warsaw.”

Szczerski added that the presidents will also discuss migration and bilateral relations.

“It will be a one-day visit, which is part of a plan to hold discussions with key European partners in the first 100 days of the presidency.” Szczerski said.

Since assuming office on 6 August, Andrzej Duda has visited a number of countries, including Germany, the UK and the US. (rg/rk)
