Polish President Andrzej Duda said that the “migration crisis is a problem for the entire EU, not lone member states” at the Visegrad and Croatia summit in Balatonfüred, Hungary.

“This is our European problem, protecting our borders [and] not just Schengen,” added Duda; a sentiment shared by all leaders present at the summit.

A significant portion of time was dedicated to the topic of the migration crisis. Climate protection and energy security were among the other topics discussed at the summit.

The topic of sovereignty of the V4 group and Croatia came up with discussing energy security and the use of each country's natural resources.

Polish energy security and its economy are dependent on coal, which is discouraged by the EU.

The Polish President claimed that Nord Stream 2, a natural gas pipeline connecting Germany with Russia, is a very costly investment and could have significant political impact for Poland, Ukraine, and Slovakia.

”Other pipelines are not at full capacity,” Duda added. (ua/ss/rg/rk)
