The Minister spoke to the PAP news agency spoke ahead of a summit in Brussels on Sunday dedicated to issue of the migration crisis.

Waszczykowski stressed the need for demarcation between international law describing the categories of “refugees” and “immigrants”.

“In the case of refugees, Poland – like many countries in the world – has international obligations which require it to consider a request for asylum,” he noted.

The Minister added that Europe also has to deal with “a huge group of economic migrants”.

“These are people even not only from the Middle East, but above all also from the Balkans, the countries which may be poor, but do not pose any danger.” (rg/di/rk)
