“In connection with the bombings in Brussels, Belgian authorities have confirmed that, following all the autopsies of the victims, a Polish national was among the victims.” the Polish Foreign Ministry stated.

Polish news stations reported that the victim was 61-year-old Janina Panasewicz who had been reported missing following the attacks. The details were confirmed by Brussels-based Polish NGO SOS Bruksela, which said that Belgian authorities had identified all the victims of the attacks, and confirmed that Panasewicz died in the attack on an underground train.

The Ministry added that another three Polish nationals were also injured in the attacks.

The Belgian capital is currently on high alert following the terrorist attacks on 22 March at the Brussels airport and an underground train station. A total of 32 people died in the attack and some 350 people were injured. (rg)
