On energy security in Europe, notably the Nord Stream 2 project, which envisages two pipelines directly connecting Russia with Germany, Poland and Denmark speak in one voice, Waszczykowski said, stressing that Europe cannot afford any setback in implementing the idea of an Energy Union.

Polish politicians have long argued that Nord Stream 2 hurts EU unity.

In his talks with Jensen, Waszczykowski highlighted Polish efforts aimed at increasing energy security. These include a bilateral Polish-Danish project called ‘Baltic Pipe’ which is to provide a direct natural gas connection between the two countries.(mk/pk)
