During the meeting on Thursday, Waszczykowski and Lieberman discussed the situation in the Middle East.

Another topic discussed by the two officials was the forthcoming NATO summit in Warsaw.

“Poland, the host of the July summit, is aware of the volatile character of global security and the nature of threats and challenges for the entire Euro-Atlantic community. We want the summit's results to enhance security and stability in Europe,” said Polish minister Waszczykowski.

He noted that the summit will cover important issues, such as NATO’s position towards Russia and the western military alliance’s help for Ukraine.

Referring to bilateral relations, the ministers voiced satisfaction with the cooperation of the Polish armed forces with the Israeli defence forces, and the prospects for further common efforts in this area in the future, especially in the context of cyber defence and, potentially, the development of modern technologies.

At the end of his trip, Waszczykowski visited the Polish Institute in Tel Aviv, where he familiarised himself with activities aimed at promoting Polish culture in Israel, including increasingly popular Polish language courses. (rg)
