The event brings together delegates from 50 European and Asian states who will address global social, political and economic issues over the next two days.
Prime Minister Szydło is to take part in a host of bilateral meetings with top officials from across the two continents. She is also to take the platform at a plenary session on Friday.
Held under the theme “20 Years of ASEM: Partnership for the Future through Connectivity”, the forum is to focus on issues such as terrorism, climate change, sustainable development and migration.
The agenda also includes topics such as information society, trade and investment.
This year’s summit marks 20 years since the first such forum was held in 1996. The biannual gathering is the key platform for dialogue between Asia and Europe. (aba/pk)
