On the final day of the official trip, the Polish delegation will travel to Nowy Świerżeń, an hour’s drive from Minsk.

There they are to pay tribute to Polish soldiers who died in the Polish-Soviet War of 1919-20, when Poland defeated the Bolsheviks and halted the expansion of communism further to the west.

Terlecki is also to meet Polish nationals based in Belarus and entrepreneurs investing in the country.

The visit marks the first official visit by high-ranking Polish parliamentarians to Belarus in years.

“I came to Minsk to underline the importance of normalizing bilateral ties with Belarus,” Terlecki told journalists.

Terlicki’s agenda included meetings with the heads of both chambers of the Belarusian parliament, alongside talks with deputy Foreign Minister Elena Kupchina. (aba)
