The King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is on an unofficial visit to Poland.
The meeting of the Polish president and the Jordanian king in Gdańsk (northern Poland) confirmed good bilateral relations, the President's Office reported. Previously the two heads of state met during last year's UN summit in New York.
The President's Office wrote in a statement that Jordan is closely cooperating with the EU and was among NATO's most significant partners.
Earlier in the day, King Abdullah II laid a wreath at the Monument of the Coast Defenders at Westerplatte.
The Battle of Westerplatte marked the beginning of World War II, which broke out on 1 September, 1939 when the German Schleswig-Holstein battleship opened fire on the Polish garrison at Westerplatte. (rg/di)
