Other topics discussed included the security situation in Eastern Europe, and the forthcoming summit of the Central and Eastern Europe-China (16+1) group.

“We welcome the dynamic growth of bilateral relations,” said Waszczykowski. “A trade deficit on Poland’s side remains an issue. We would like to offset it by facilitating access of Polish exports to Chinese markets,” he added.

Waszczykowski said that Poland is a partner in China’s flagship “One Belt, One Road” project. “As a country at the heart of Central and Eastern Europe, and a hub for east-west and north-south trade routes, Poland is particularly interested in this project’s economic success,” he added. (rg)
