Foreign ministers receive award for services to Weimar Triangle

The foreign ministers of Poland, France and Germany have been honoured with the the Adam Mickiewicz Award for their services to the Weimar Triangle, on the 25th anniversary of its founding.

The work of the foreign ministers of Poland, France and Germany – Witold Waszczykowski, Jean-Marc Ayrault and Frank-Walter Steinmeier – was acknowledged by the Committee for the Support of Polish-German-French Cooperation.

The first winners of the award, established in 2006, were the founders of the Weimar Triangle, foreign ministers Krzysztof Skubiszewski, Roland Dumas and Hans-Dietrich Genscher.

Recent laureates include Władysław Bartoszewski, Prof. Michał Kleiber and such institutions as the Polish-German Youth Office, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Małopolska province in Poland. (rg)
