Polish lorry driver jailed after killing family of four in UK

A 30-year old Polish lorry driver has been jailed for ten years after killing a family of four while using his phone driving down a UK motorway.

The Polish driver, identified by British press as Tomasz Kroker, pleaded guilty to four counts of causing death by dangerous driving.
Footage from inside the cab of the lorry showed how Kroker had been scrolling through the music on his phone for seven seconds ahead of the crash.
His vehicle hit a smaller carwhich had slowed down to a stop, and caused the death of a 45-year-old woman and three children in the car.
The judge who heard the case said that Kroker “may as well have been driving with his eyes closed”. (rg)
