Speaking to Polish Radio, Marek Magierowski said that the top priority for Poland is for the White House to meet the provisions of the NATO summit which was held in Warsaw in July.

These include the “deployment of four NATO battalions in the Baltic region and Poland, deployment of an armoured American brigade in our country, and the [completion] of a defence missile base in [Northern Poland],” Magierowski said.

He added that “a lot of work awaits” the Polish diplomatic corps to develop good relations with the new White House administration.

Republican candidate Donald Trump won the 270 electoral college votes needed to enter the White House, following a closely fought race against Democrat Hillary Clinton. (rg)
