According to the head of the Polish President’s Press Office, Marek Magierowski, Trump said that he values the Polish community in the US and its contribution to the development of American society and economy.

Magierowski also said that Trump assured Duda that during his term, Poland will be able to count on the United States and that Warsaw is a valued ally for Washington.

“President Trump very clearly emphasized that Poland can count on the United States during his term in office, also on military issues, because he talked about all aspects of cooperation.

"I think there is room for further, calm talks and concrete decisions that surely await us in relations between Warsaw and Washington,” Magierowski told the TVN24 television station.

The presidents also reportedly invited each other to visit each other’s countries. The two politicians will most likely meet for the first time in spring 2017, during a NATO summit in Brussels.

The phone call is reported to have lasted 10-15 minutes. (mol/pk)
