Poland invited representatives of the Visegrad Group: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary, six Western Balkan countries aspiring to EU membership: Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, as well as six EU members that are regional neighbours: Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Slovenia and Italy.

In total, around one hundred people from more than a dozen delegations will participate in the talks, which make it “a big logistical and organisational challenge”, Joanna Wajda, spokeswoman for the Polish foreign ministry, told the PAP news agency.

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, also plans to attend the meeting in the Polish capital on Tuesday.

“We are very glad that the European Commission will be represented at such a high level. This sends an important signal to all the countries that will participate in this meeting,” Wajda said. (rg)
