Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko thanked Duda and said Poland is “not only a strategic partner for us, Poland is our friend."
Poroshenko was visiting Warsaw on the 25th anniversary of Poland recognizing Ukraine’s independence, on 2 December, 1991. Poland was the first country in the world to take such a step.
Referring to Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, Duda said: "Poland, and I hope the international community too, will never accept this fact.”
The Polish president said Warsaw also supports Ukraine in carrying out reforms such as decentralization, strengthening local government, fighting corruption and modernizing the army.
Duda expressed hope that all European Union countries would ratify the association agreement between the bloc and Ukraine.
Duda added he was happy with an agreement signed on Friday between the Polish and Ukrainian governments on military cooperation.
