Security, EU, key for Poland and Latvia: PM

Regional security and the survival of the European Union are key concerns for Warsaw and Riga, Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło said after meeting her Latvian counterpart Māris Kučinskis on Thursday.

During talks in Warsaw, the two leaders discussed security issues and the situation in the European Union after Brexit.
They also talked about Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, the Eastern Partnership and about bilateral relations, including education for the Polish minority in Latvia.
The pair also discussed joint transport and energy projects, including the Rail Baltica and Via Baltica initiatives.
"We concluded that we are going down the same road,” Szydło a joint press conference after the meeting.
“For both Poland and Latvia, the most important thing at the moment is security in our region and, of course, the survival of the European Union, and therefore finding solutions that will be acceptable to all member states and will result in the EU, after these changes which are before it, becoming even stronger and developing.”
