Brexit negotiations between the UK and the European Union could take up to four years, said Mateusz Morawiecki, Poland’s Development and Finance Minister on British Sky News.

“It will last longer than two years, it's so difficult [a] process that unless the two parties find a new way of sorting out the bone of contention which is the free movement of people and the single European market, I think this can last for three or four years,” Morawiecki said.

He also addressed Poles living in the UK, saying: “I would like to invite them back to Poland. I think there is such a low level of unemployment, and we have prepared a responsible development plan which entails lots of new investment and re-industrialisation... and we have also changed lots of our social systems so they are beneficial for young couples with children.”

Morawiecki added:“So all the young couples with children, please come back to us. I think it would be good for Poland and not bad for the UK.”
