Ministry spokeswoman Joanna Wajda told the PAP news agency the participants of the debate will include the President of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaite, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble and European Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans.

In Munich, Waszczykowski will attend a debate about the state of the Western world, during which Polish President Andrzej Duda will be a speaker.

On Saturday, Waszczykowski will attend a discussion on transatlantic relations.

“With the exception of the United States, Poland is the only country whose representatives will speak in the two consecutive panels on the first day of the conference,” the foreign ministry’s spokeswoman said.

Organised since the early 1960s, the Munich Security Conference is considered to be one of the largest and most important international meetings on defence and security.
