Visegrad Group leaders to meet in Warsaw

The prime ministers of the Visegrad Group countries will hold talks in Warsaw on Thursday, Polish government spokesman Rafał Bochenek has said.

The meeting of the leaders of Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia will be a chance to draw up a preliminary position by Visegrad Group members in the run-up to EU summits in Brussels and Rome, Bochenek said on Monday.
He added that the meeting in the Polish capital will be an opportunity to discuss food quality in Central and Eastern Europe.
"I confirm that on Thursday in Warsaw there will be a meeting of the leaders of the Visegrad Group countries. This meeting will be a prelude to the upcoming summit in Brussels and the Rome summit in late March," Bochenek told reporters.
The EU summit in Brussels will be held 9-10 March.
Meanwhile, EU heads of state or government will meet in the Italian capital on 25 March on the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Rome Treaties.
They are expected to adopt a joint declaration summing up the process of integration and looking ahead to the future of the bloc.
The Treaties of Rome were the founding agreements establishing the European Economic Community (EEC) -- a forerunner of the European Union, and the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC). They were signed on 25 March 1957.
