“In the forthcoming [Brexit] negotiations, the Polish government will strive to establish a structured system for the UK to leave the European Union, and in this process safeguard the interests of Poland and other member countries,” Szydło said at a meeting of Visegrad Group leaders.

“We are concerned about having good relations with the UK. This is an important partner for Poland. We want it to be an important partner for the EU after leaving the bloc,” Szydło said.

She said that the Warsaw meeting of the leaders of the Visegrad Group – made up of Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia – addressed issues such as Europe's future, migration and the current European agenda. (rg/pk)
