Duda will arrive in the Slovak capital straight from Brussels, where he took part in a one-day NATO summit on Thursday.

"The [Polish] president is this year the head of state invited to deliver the opening address” at the Bratislava forum, said Duda’s chief of staff, Krzysztof Szczerski.

“He will talk about security and role of Central Europe in global security in two areas, related to the eastern flank” and the region between the Baltic, Black and Adriatic Seas.

The Globsec forum has been held in Bratislava since 2005.

Among leaders attending this year are the presidents of Slovakia, Croatia, Estonia, Bulgaria, as well as politicians from across Europe, including the head of the European Council, Donald Tusk.

Among the speakers will be Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski.
