Bus crash in Turkey kills driver, injures Polish passengers

A bus carrying Polish tourists to Turkey’s Antalya airport has crashed, killing the Turkish driver and injuring 11 passengers, the Polish foreign ministry has said, according to the IAR news agency.

A semi-trailer probably hit the bus, IAR said, adding that the truck driver has been detained.

The Polish foreign ministry said that six of the 11 injured have already been released from hospital and will return home later today, while the left remains under observation, IAR said.

The Polish consulate in Ankara is monitoring the situation and is in touch with Turkish authorities, IAR cited the foreign ministry in Warsaw as saying. (vb)
