‘Deep, historical’ changes in NATO since Warsaw summit: Polish defence minister

Many positive changes have taken place in NATO since the Western military alliance’s Warsaw summit in July last year, Poland’s defence minister said on Thursday.

Antoni Macierewicz described these changes as "deep and historical.”
Poland has contributed to changes in how NATO works, he said as the alliance’s defence ministers continued their two-day meeting in Brussels on Thursday.
Poland 'ready to host' NATO command centre
Macierewicz also said in Brussels on Thursday that Poland was ready to host a planned new NATO command centre.
"We are ready to provide our military capabilities and army commanders," he declared, saying that Poland was “the most appropriate destination for the centre” from a military point of view.
Macierewicz added that Poland was interested in seeing NATO troops become firmly "rooted" in its territory.
“This makes Poland and the Polish people more secure,” he said.
