According to presidential aide Krzysztof Szczerski, Duda, who arrived in Athens late on Sunday, will meet with Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

The Polish President is expected to open a Polish-Greece Innovation and Green Technology Forum.

Ahead of Duda's visit, Szczerski said European Union policies, “especially in the context of the migration problem” would be an important talking point for Duda, adding that Polish border guards help to protect Greek border islands.

Szczerski also said that Polish-Greek trade grew by about 60 percent in the last four years and was valued at a record USD 1.3 million (PLN 4.7 million, EUR 1.1 million) last year. (vb/di)
