Polish president holds talks with Trump at Davos

Polish President Andrzej Duda on Friday held talks on energy and business projects with US leader Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum in Davos, officials have said.

Duda and Trump talked about “economic cooperation between Poland and the United States, especially in the area of ​​energy and investment by American companies in Poland," senior Polish presidential aide Krzysztof Szczerski told the PAP news agency.

Szczerski said the two presidents confirmed the "very positive state of political relations between the two countries and their personal mutual empathy."

The World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, an annual gathering of global political and business leaders, started on Tuesday and runs until Friday.

Duda was later on Friday due to hold talks in Warsaw with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Tillerson was also to meet Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz to discuss issues including military ties and energy cooperation.
