300 Kremlin-linked military contractors killed or injured in Syria: reports
PR dla Zagranicy
Some three hundred private military personnel with alleged links to the Kremlin were killed or injured in Syria last week, the Reuters news agency has said.
Reuters said its sources who wanted to remain anonymous put the death toll at around 80 or 100 people.
The casualties coincided with US-led air strikes on the Syrian city of Deir al-Zor on February 7, Poland's niezalezna.pl news website said.
Russian authorities deny deploying private military contractors to Syria.
But Russia has engaged military contractors because those deaths do not need to be accounted for, niezalezna.pl said.
Reuters said that Russia is more involved in the conflict in Syria than it claims.
