Duda wished Xi prosperity and further successes.

“It is with great interest that we observe the work of the 13th National People’s Congress, which charts trajectories for future dynamic growth of the People’s Republic of China under your leadership,” Andrzej Duda said in a letter to Xi.

“I am convinced that owing to a versatile strategic partnership connecting our countries, Poland and China will jointly implement mutually beneficial projects that will strengthen the wellbeing and prosperity of our two nations,” he added.

On Saturday, Xi was unanimously re-elected for a five-year term at the fifth plenary session of the National People's Congress in Beijing.

On Sunday, parliament voted to abolish presidential term limits in China's constitution, allowing Xi to stay in power indefinitely.

This year’s plenary session, held from March 5 to 20, is to elect a host of new officials, including a prime minister, deputy prime ministers, governor of the central bank and chief justice of the Supreme Court. (aba/pk)
