The Polish presidential couple has sent a letter of congratulations to British royals William and Kate on the birth of their third child.

“We wish to offer our warmest congratulations on the birth of Your Royal Highnesses’ third offspring, a new member of the British Royal Family,” the Polish president, Andrzej Duda, and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda wrote in the letter, written in English.

They added: “May the days of the youngest son’s childhood abound in happy moments for Your Royal Highnesses.

“On this merry occasion, extending our heartfelt compliments, we share in Your Highnesses’ joy.”

The Polish first couple also said they still had “vivid memories of our meeting with the whole family of Your Royal Highnesses in July last year.”

William and Kate visited Poland in mid-July for a high-profile charm offensive that built ties between the two countries.

As the news of Kate being pregnant with a third child was announced, Britain’s The Sun tabloid speculated in early September that the baby might have been conceived on the royal couple’s summer trip to Poland.
