Poland has condemned elections which the Polish foreign ministry said were "allegedly" organised by pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine on Sunday.

The elections were allegedly held on November 11 in the so-called Donetsk People's Republic and the Lugansk People's Republic, and the Polish foreign ministry said they were part of "Russia's policy of changing the status quo by force".

"Poland does not acknowledge any actions undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," the foreign ministry added. (vb)
