The so-called inter-governmental talks were also expected to focus on artificial intelligence and cooperation on cyber and energy security.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in Prague that his frequent meetings with his Czech counterpart Andrej Babiš reflected “ever closer” relations between their countries.

“I am very happy about this, because these meetings show that our interests are more and more convergent, especially in the EU context and in our bilateral relations," added Morawiecki.

Morawiecki said that trade between Poland and the Czech Republic was worth EUR 20 billion (USD 22.6 bn).

He added that the Visegrad Group, a regional cooperation platform that groups Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia, was Germany's largest trading partner.
