"As a country which itself has recently completed the path of transformation and European integration, Poland fully supports the European aspirations of Serbia and other Western Balkan countries," said Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.

His visit was an opportunity to discuss the plans of the Polish presidency of the Berlin Process and the state of preparations for a summit to be held in the western Polish city of Poznań in July 2019.

The Berlin Process is a diplomatic undertaking linked to the future enlargement of the European Union.

The Belgrade trip was the last in a series of visits by Szynkowski vel Sęk to the Western Balkans region.

A follow-up meeting and a presentation of the priorities of the Polish presidency of the Berlin Process will take place in early December in Poznań, the foreign ministry in Warsaw said on its website.
