The conclusions of the summit will be presented at a major international United Nations meeting on climate change that will be held in Katowice, southern Poland.

The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, also known as COP24, will be held in December.

Meanwhile, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and Poland’s Deputy Environment Minister Michał Kurtyka were expected to take part in the Virtual Climate Summit. The event was due to be held entirely online.

According to the summit’s website, “leaders will join live-streamed or by pre-recorded video segments. The audience – governments, global companies, cities, states, civil society and media – will be encouraged to engage interactively in the summit program.”

Next month, tens of thousands of politicians, scientists, activists and businesspeople from 190 countries are expected to attend the COP24 summit in Katowice.

Poland has hosted the annual UN climate change conference twice already, in Warsaw in 2013 and in Poznań in 2008.
