Duda is expected to meet a slew of international decision makers during the annual event in the Swiss Alpine town, presidential spokesman Błażej Spychalski has said.

While in Davos, President Duda is scheduled to hold talks with politicians including the new Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, and NATO head Jens Stoltenberg, Spychalski added.

Duda also plans to hold a number of business meetings on the sidelines of the event, which runs until Friday, according to Spychalski.

The World Economic Forum takes place every year in late January.

When he was in Davos last year, the Polish president said he wanted his country to be visible at major gatherings, a presence that would bring business and political benefits.
