Pence will travel to Europe from February 13 to 16 on behalf of President Donald Trump and accompanied by Second Lady Karen Pence, the White House said in a statement on Wednesday.

In Warsaw, Pence will give keynote remarks at an international conference co-hosted by the United States and Poland and known as the Ministerial to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East, according to the White House.

It said Pence will also participate in bilateral discussions "on expanding and deepening U.S.-Poland relations, especially in the spheres of military and energy security, as well as expanding our economic and commercial ties."

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will join Pence for the conference in Poland, the White House also said.

According to a joint Polish-US statement cited by the foreign ministry in Warsaw, the “Ministerial to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East” on February 13 and 14 aims to be "a forum for countries concerned about instability in the region to share their assessments and offer ideas on a better way forward."
