Germany’s Merkel to attend V4 summit in Bratislava: Polish PM

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will join Central European leaders during a summit of their regional Visegrad Group in Bratislava on Thursday, the Polish prime minister has said.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said the gathering in the Slovak capital would tackle issues including Central Europe’s trade with Germany and Britain's impending exit from the European Union.
Other topics will include this year’s elections to the European Parliament and the next EU budget, Morawiecki said on Tuesday.
The four-nation Visegrad Group (V4) is a regional cooperation platform that brings together Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The four Central European states are later this month expected to hold a summit in Jerusalem.
