Polish president to meet troops stationed in Balkans

Polish President Andrzej Duda is on Monday travelling to Bosnia and Herzegovina to meet soldiers stationed in the Balkans.

Duda is expected to meet Polish troops serving as part of the European Union’s EUFOR peacekeeping mission and soldiers stationed in Kosovo as part of NATO's KFOR peace force.
Duda is being accompanied by Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak; Paweł Soloch, head of the Polish president’s National Security Bureau (BBN); Gen. Rajmund Andrzejczak, chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces; and Gen. Tomasz Piotrowski, the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces.
The visit is scheduled to include a meeting with two members of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s tripartite presidency, Bosnian Serb Milorad Dodik and Bosniak Šefik Džaferović, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
The trip will mark the first visit by a Polish president to Bosnia and Herzegovina in history, and the first top-level meeting between the two countries' presidents, the Polish president's office has said.
It will be Duda’s fifth meeting with soldiers from Polish military contingents abroad, after Kuwait, Afghanistan, Romania and Latvia.
