In Poland, protests will take place in Krakow, Katowice, Leszno, Radom, Szczecin, Warsaw, Wroclaw and Poznan.

Around 20,000 have said they will participate in demonstrations in Germany and interest is being shown in France: 30,000 have promised to take part in Romania.

In protests against ACTA on 26 January in Poznan, western Poland, up 5,000 protested, though sections of the demonstration slipped out of control, with the HQ of the ruling Civic Platform party being stoned.

Seven people were arrested.

The protest against the ACTA agreement continues online in Poland with the Ministry of Culture web site coming under DOS attacks, Wednesday – where electronically generated demands put on the site forces it to crash. (pg)
