Adam Bielecki and Janusz Golab stood on the summit at 8068 metres above sea level this morning at around 08.30 local time.
The men approached the summit - the 11th highest in the world - from the north-west side of the mountain in an expedition lasting 49 days.
The two climbers are now returning back down the mountain to Camp III and are scheduled to reach Base Camp on 10 or 11 March. (pg)
