John Lee Hooker Jr.plays Warsaw with Polish blues band

Two time Grammy nominee, John Lee Hooker Jr. played with Polish blues band Daddy's Cash at the Polish Radio studio on Sunday night, promoting their new album.

The 14-track album, That's What The Blues Is All About, was released last November on the Polish Radio label, which has already been awarded a gold disc in Poland.

John Lee Hooker Jr., born in Detroit and son of the legendary blues man who he toured with as a child, also played in ther winter ski resort of Zakopane last Friday.

His new album with Polish blues musicians features an “extraordinary mix of the ‘American rhythm’ combined with Polish fantasy. There is something for everyone: from Delta Blues across Ballades, Boogie, Chicago sound, Funk, a little bit of Jazz and even Big Band or Latin sound,” says the sleeve notes. (pg)
