The exhibition has been organized by Abbey House and is curated by Sacha Craddock, who told the Polish Press Agency (PAP) that Poland has many wonderful avant-garde artists.

“I hope that a broad selection of works by Polish artists will allow British viewers to gain a better understanding of Polish culture and appreciate its high standards and the directions of its development,” she said.

Featured artists at the show include the late Henryk Stażewski, Eugeniusz Markowski and Aleksander Kobzdej, representatives of the old generation such as Stefan Gierowski (b. 1925) and Wojciech Fangor (b. 1922) and the youngest talent (Anna Szprynger, Julia Bistuła, Andrzej Cisowski, Marek Niemirski, Maciej Wieczerzak, Jan Wyżykowski).

The Saatchi Gallery is one of the most important private modern art galleries in London. Its current collection exceeds 200 works, whose total value is estimated as 37 million dollars.

The exhibition was previewed in last Sunday’s edition of The Guardian. (mk/pg)
